BUPD hosts A Night of Karaoke

The following blog post was contributed by COM student Lauren Oubre and her team working with the BUPD.

We can’t even begin to tell you how excited we are to share with you an event on campus that will put The Voice to shame. Well—maybe not exactly. There won’t be a panel of judges, but there will be lots of singing. At 7:30 P.M., on Tuesday, March 28th, we encourage our 21+ terriers to come on down to the BU Pub for a night of singing, free food, and good old-fashioned fun. However, here’s the best part: The Boston University Police Department will be joining us and working their stage magic too!

The BUPD is an essential team of professionals who keep our beautiful campus safe and thriving. However, these officers are regular people too, and want to be a part of the community just like you and I. Picking up delicious bagels at Pavement or grabbing lunch at Rhett’s is just as much a part of their routine as it is ours. It’s important that we get to know those who serve and protect our community, in order to foster trust, happiness, and most importantly–safety. Even something as simple as belting out Don’t Stop Believing with an officer can hopefully create those positive relationships! Not to mention, this is certainly a memory you will never forget.

So come on down to the BU Pub, at 225 Bay State Road, and see what Karaoke Night with the BUPD is all about. Mark your calendars for March 28th at 7:30 P.M. Don’t forget— there will be free food!
