At these checkpoints, law enforcement or security officers will be inspecting bags and other items being carried. Spectators should not to carry any of the following items:

Marathon Day in Boston is always an exciting time of the year and an event which defines the Boston experience.  I encourage you to enjoy the race and surrounding festivities, but I want to remind you that it is illegal to consume alcohol in any public place. Alcohol ordinances and drug laws will be strictly enforced by the police along the course.

On behalf of the Boston University Police Department and all the public safety agencies supporting the Boston Marathon, I encourage everyone to participate in our “See Something, Say Something” campaign by being aware and attentive to your surroundings and to immediately report suspicious activities to the police. If you encounter a suspicious article, do not touch or move the article and quickly move away from the area. You can contact the police by dialing 9-1-1 or contact the BUPD directly by calling 617-353-2121.

Enjoy the Marathon and stay Safe!
