The Return of #BUConvo
Sometimes you just need a little time off.
After a hiatus, Dean Elmore’s Coffee and Conversation will be returning this fall semester. Our office heard your requests for a forum to talk about the big-picture topics that we need to be thinking about, and Dean Elmore has agreed to bring the program back.
Our ground rules to keep the conversation fresh and productive:
Calendar – Coffee and Conversation will only be held every other week. Our schedule looks like this: 3-5pm on the following Fridays in the Howard Thurman Center.
Sept. 5 |
Sept. 19 |
Oct. 3 |
Oct. 17 |
Oct. 31 |
Nov. 7 |
Nov. 21 |
Dec. 5 |
Coffee. We will provide the coffee, but you will need to provide the mug. Please bring your own mug to each Coffee and Conversation if you wish to have our coffee or tea. We will not be providing disposable cups.
Conversation. Topics will be posted every Friday morning on the Dean’s Blog. We’re always open to suggestions, but the topic decision will be made by Dean Elmore himself. In addition, remember that Coffee and Conversation is for the discussion of national and global topics only. If you need to discuss a University issue, please stop by Dean Elmore’s office hours (8:30-9:30am Tuesdays and Friday mornings near the GSU Starbucks.)
Information and backchannel will be available using the #BUconvo hashtag on social media.
Consciousness. Dean Elmore says to keep three words in mind when you attend Coffee and Conversation: informed, respectful and cool.
We’ll see you September 5th around 3pm in the Howard Thurman Center!
