Let’s Stay Together: Time to Gather in the Sports Spots
Throw your hands in the air if you enjoy going to a huge space, full of folks ready to have a good time, but where you’ve got to sit down, keep quiet, listen , and watch! I didn’t think so. I go to the game because I like the meet up. A good sporting event is a mixer — I can see friends, meet new people, laugh as loud as I want, and even poke a little fun.
The show-em-what-we’ve-got, fancy exhibitions are over and the real-deal game is on. Time for the official hockey season to start — not just for the women and men representing BU on the ice, but for us fans.
If you haven’t been to a game or if you just forgot, get ready to rock the house — dress up (costumes welcomed), dance, chant, hug, sigh, high-five, laugh, play the dozens, kiss, experience edge-of-the-seat tension, jeer, strut, and be proud.
It’s all there. sure, it’s fun. Even better, it’s got a boom for your ears. It’s hip. Full of character and characters. It’s a pretty kind of excitement. It starts this weekend.
So let’s rock the place this season. I know I’ll see you at the parties — our women start one tonight; our men got it goin’ on tomorrow.
Peace.
The BU women’s hockey team brings it tonight in the home opener (Friday, October 15) at 7 p.m., at Walter Brown Arena. (Catch up with me — I’m holding a few tickets.)
