How do I find glee? By getting together One More Time
Rumor: we’re getting together — thousands of us — this week to watch a popular television show that airs on Tuesday nights (at 8 p.m.) and this week features performances of a pop culture figure. I say, true!
I love it when the place is rocking, I step in the room, and can howl, hop, and dance. When my jam comes on and everybody in the place is falling over each other to sing the words. When you’re in a big room and can chant with the best in the house. When I encounter the ceremonious and no one cares that I’m singing out of key. When I observe a conversation and realize that I’ve been there before. And, when the conversation is hot and I can jump in, with authority. Joy. Glee?
Maybe that’s why I like watching a movie that I’ve seen several times with others who’ve watch that same movie, over and over. Why I love being in packed arenas talking the same trash that everyone else knows. Sitting at the kitchen table and having a part in a chorus of the old and familiar. Experiences full of music, drama, relationships, culture, and plenty of characters.
My guilty pleasure is watching a popular Tuesday night television show with others, of course. Talking about the show with a room full of other folks, on Wednesdays, is just as solid. So we’re getting together to check out the show and have a cool experience with each other. The Agganis Arena is a great gathering space for concerts, games (of course), and to check out a little tube. The show starts at 8 p.m. – since we’re in the Arena, how about skating starting at 7 p.m. and lasting until the end of the show (no need to bring your own, we’ve got a few pairs). Let’s take a break and for a moment or two and make this a happening experience – for us – in a great space.
Here’s to seeing you, or singing and dancing with you, on Tuesday night. Better to chat with you on Wednesday morning.
Peace.
