Coffee and Conversation: The Task for Our Generation
A video post sparks this week’s conversation:
Meet me this afternoon in the Howard Thurman Center to talk about whether religion might be the most important issue of our times. I’ll be there from 3-5 p.m. with plenty of cookies and coffee.
What is religion? Can you be religious without religion? Can you do good without religion? Is understanding religion the most important task for us? Does the world and our souls need us to discover a way to talk about and understand the way we perceive each other and the divine? Is this where the true conversation for peace begins and ends? How do we engage these conversations? Are community service, happiness, and civic engagement really the conversation points for religion and religiousness?
Fondly do we hope, fervently do we pray. Bring your compassion.
Peace.
