Prioritizing Community Partnerships Can Naturally Create A Social Justice Lens

Kaytlin Eldred (she/her/hers) is a Lecturer at Boston University, teaching global health and social justice courses in the Health Science undergraduate department. Within her teaching practice, she emphasizes the importance of strong communities, meeting individual and social needs, and promoting intercultural literacy and humility. Her academic focus highlights how our identity affects our health. She is currently recruiting for an interactive book project that will showcase people from all over the world and share stories of gender, sexuality, power, language, religion, and more. Previously, Kaytlin has worked in the non-profit and social justice sectors on a multitude of projects including systems development, program implementation, volunteer management, and event planning. Kaytlin has worked on anti-fracking campaigns and voter registration campaigns. She was an advocate for financial assistance on behalf of low-income families with children experiencing serious illness requiring treatment plans that were financially out of reach. She has directed public service announcements for local news stations as well as developed ordinance and policy briefs for childhood alcohol consumption prevention.
