Muhammad Zaman, a professor of Biomedical Engineering, has spent his tenure teaching while investigating how grading practices in STEM can reinforce inequity and reward privilege, resulting in attrition of historically vulnerable and marginalized communities. He shares how to rethink these practices for a more equitable learning environment.
