Semester Requests

Please note that you MUST request a new Faculty Accommodation Letter (FAL) each semester for every class you need accommodations in. FALs are dated and a letter from Summer 2025 or earlier will not be accepted for fall classes. 

OUR SEMESTER REQUEST PROCESS IS CHANGING SLIGHTLY THIS SEMESTER

In previous semesters, after you requested your FAL, the letter was sent to you directly and you were responsible for sharing your FAL with faculty members. Starting Fall 2025, when you request your letter it will be sent directly to your faculty by DAS. If you add or swap classes, please contact us at access@bu.edu to request an additional letter for this new course. 

In order to request your letter:

  1. Log in to Accommodate
  2. On the side panel under “Accommodation Menu”, click on “Semester Request”
  3. Read and sign the Rights and Responsibilities form
  4. Click “Add New” 
  5. Select the Fall 2025 semester
  6. Choose the accommodations you want to renew for the fall
  7. Select the courses you want your letter sent to. THIS IS AN IMPORTANT NEW STEP. If you do not select a course, we will not send a letter to the faculty member for that class, and you will not receive accommodations for that class.
  8. Click “Submit”!

Please submit your semester request as soon as possible. In the coming days, we will be sending out FALs in the order they are received. Your accommodations are provided from the date the FAL is sent to the faculty members and are not retroactive. The sooner we receive your request, the sooner your academic accommodations can be implemented!
