Sights and Sounds: GSDM Predoctoral Matriculation Week 2025
GSDM welcomed the incoming predoctoral classes, DMD Class of 2029 and DMD Advanced Standing Class of 2027, during the 2025 Predoctoral Matriculation Week from Monday, July 29 to Friday, August 1.
“Ready, Willing, and Dedicated:” Annual GSDM Professional Ceremony Celebrates DMD 29 and DMD AS 27 Classes
During the Professional Ceremony on Friday, August 1, the students from the Doctor of Dental Medicine Class of 2029 and the Doctor of Dental Medicine Advanced Standing Class of 2027 recited the dental professional oath for the first time and received a Boston University pin to commemorate their entry into the school.
GSDM and Local School Volunteers Screen 65 athletes during 2025 Special Olympics Healthy Athletes® Program
More than 70 volunteers from the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine (GSDM), Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, and Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences gave hands-on oral healthcare services in early June to athletes participating in the 2025 Special Olympics Massachusetts Summer Games.

During the 2024-2025 academic year, GSDM students, alumni, and faculty participated in “mission trips” to five countries as part of the school’s International Elective Externship program, which offers fourth-year DMD students an opportunity to provide dental care outside of a typical clinical situation to individuals who lack regular access to care. During an informational session on April 29, students who participated in the program shared their experiences.
GSDM Community Volunteered Over 1,200 Hours During 2025 Global Days of Service
One hundred and thirty-four GSDM alumni, students, residents, faculty, and staff contributed 1,255 volunteer hours during the 2025 Boston University Global Days of Service, an annual university-wide community service initiative that gives back to local, national, and international communities.
