Amy Johnson is a seasoned education and workforce development specialist with nearly a decade of experience in program management, student engagement, and relationship-building roles across diverse sectors. She holds a Master of Arts in Gastronomy from Boston University, where her thesis research explored traditional winemaking and agroecology in France. She also earned dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Journalism and Anthropology from the University of Arizona. She has excelled in roles that bridge academic support and student services, including her tenure as Academic Program Manager for the Department of Actuarial Science from June 2019 to May 2024, as well as her current role in the Department of Computer Science. As Program Manager for MET CS, she works with both online and on-campus students who are conditionally admitted or pre-matriculated, helping them set up their BU accounts and register for classes, as well as answering any questions they may have along the way. Prior to this, she served as Assistant Director of Admission at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and Student Services Intern at CEA Paris in Paris, France. Amy is proficient in French and has been recognized with awards for her innovative contributions to food production and inclusive initiatives within the food and wine sectors.

In addition to her professional and academic roles, Amy is an active volunteer for many local non-profits. She coordinates the Donation Garden for the Fenway Victory Gardens, which grows, harvests, and donates fresh produce to a local women’s shelter. She has also served the important role of foster parent to several adopted dogs through Ruff Tales Rescue.
