Research Analyst

Are you interested in research and data analysis? Does working in higher education appeal to you? Do you like working with data to gather insights and make decisions? Can you play nice with humans and machines?

What we want you to do

Maguire Associates is looking for an Analyst who will help our company grow and our clients succeed. This is a full-time position where you’ll use your research and data skills in a range of assignments that support our two main business lines, which include research-based consulting and enrollment forecasting. To be more specific, here are some of the things that you’ll do:

  • Help design and analyze custom research that provides insight on stakeholder perceptions and needs
  • Build prediction models that help colleges and universities optimize the size and shape of their new student classes
  • Refine and shape data files to maximize their ability to answer research questions
  • Use secondary data to advise colleges and universities with new academic program offerings
  • Evaluate college and university admissions websites and social media usage
  • Talk to clients and advise them on research insights and strategy

Who you are

You’re someone who is curious about the world and finds it easy to walk into a room and make some new friends. Someone who has interests in education, quantitative research and statistical methods, and has proficiency in Microsoft Office and a quantitative statistics package like SPSS, SAS, or R. You’ll have a bachelor’s degree in the social sciences or in a field where data analysis is important. You get extra credit if you have an advanced degree or have worked in a university institutional research office, a market research firm, or a research-based consulting agency.
