Thirst for Knowledge Leads Aishwarya Talapuru to BU MET; Committed Faculty Leads to Passion for Coding
MS in Computer Information Systems, concentration in Web Application Development
What compelled you to return to school and pursue a graduate education? What is your long-term objective?
Knowledge enhancement was the prime aim in pursuing my graduate studies. The experience of doing assignments builds confidence and inspires self-learning, which was lacking in my undergraduate studies. The intensive coaching I received has generated greater interest in computer subjects—especially coding language, which has become my passion and led me to writing code involving encryption and decryption, otherwise known as cybersecurity. My future aim, should I get the opportunity, is to move into research.
Why did you choose MET for your graduate studies? What set MET apart from other programs you were considering?
I knew that BU was ranked among the top universities in the US, and that a BU degree would definitely present me with good opportunities in the future. I didn’t consider anywhere else.
Is there a particular faculty member from your courses who has enhanced your experience at MET? Who and why?
Scott Arena impresses me with his strong approach to course instruction and his commitment to inspiring students to learn more independently. Similarly, I would say Andrew Sheehan and Professor Vijay Kanabar were crucial to my education.
What is your goal for after graduation?
I hope to find a good job in a good corporate company or research institute which gives me the opportunity to pursue my interest.
