Ronette Lyle
Staff Spotlight.
Meet the Department of Computer Science’s newest staff member, Ronette Lyle, academic program administrator. Ronette has a BS in business administration from Emmanuel College and an MS in nonprofit leadership from Wheelock College. She has worked at Wheelock for the past 19 years in several different offices, including the registrar’s office, the dean’s office, graduate admissions, and, most recently, student accounts.
Ronette, what is your role in the Computer Science department?
My role involves a variety of student services. I work with on-campus students on the admissions process all the way through graduation. I help students navigate their way through their degree and certificate programs by doing such things as degree and certificate audits, graduation verification, collecting and verifying I-20 documents, and responding to on-campus student inquiries and requests.
So far, what do like about working at BU, and as academic program administrator?
I have found the transition to BU to be stimulating. I enjoy learning the processes and work flows that are used at MET Computer Science, as well as the collaborative work environment, which is both positive and supportive. And I really enjoy working with students to address their needs.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I enjoy being with family and friends, learning about different cultures, and sharing things about my culture and family values. I also love traveling and exploring different places. I recently took a trip to Vancouver and Seattle and spent an entire day exploring the British Columbia Museum in Vancouver learning about the first people. As the weather gets warmer, I enjoy going to the beach.
What advice would you have for graduates this May?
Don’t be afraid to make positive changes in the world!
