Teach for BU Summer Challenge 2015

BU Summer Term High School Programs is currently seeking an instructor to teach Computer Science for the Summer Challenge program in summer 2015. Summer Challenge is a non-credit pre-college residential program in which students select 2 of 18 seminars and participate in social activities on campus. Summer term is seeking a lecturer or graduate student to teach a Computer Science seminar for the following session and time:

Session 1 (June 15-26, Monday through Friday, 1-3 pm)

Instructors devise their own curriculum and can build upon syllabi used in past years. Compensation is $2000 per session, with a one-time curriculum development payment of $500 for new instructors.

Here is a course description: This course is designed to provide an overview of computer science concepts as well as teach basic programming skills. Students learn about algorithms, variables and expressions, input and output, if-else statements, for and while loops, functions and parameters, and simple data structures. The course introduces the history of computer science, artificial intelligence, software engineering, computer networking, and computer-human interaction. Students work in groups to code in two programming languages, Scratch and Java, and will choose one language to use for a final project.
