In addition to office hours, BU has a variety of resources available to support students in their classes. Computer science students are encouraged to attend office hours and explore the resources below to enrich and strengthen their learning.
Educational Resource Center
- Academic Coaching where you can meet one-on-one with a professional staff member to hone your time management and study strategies, note taking and test taking skills
- Peer Tutoring program supports students in a number of 100- and 200-level courses from across BU’s campus. The ERC’s Peer Tutors are experienced undergraduate students who are here to help and encourage you as you make the transition to academic life at BU.
- Writing Assistance can assist you with all stages of the writing process, from brainstorming and outlining, to formatting citations and revising your argument. Even better, Writing Assistance will remain available to you after you graduate to help with personal statements, graduate school applications, etc.
- Workshops: can help you become more successful by helping you better manage your time, perform better on different test formats, and improve your study habits.
Department or Course-Specific Tutoring
- ENG Tutoring Center: The College of Engineering tutoring center is open to all undergraduate students enrolled in ENG courses.
- Mathematics Tutoring Room: The Department of Mathematics and Statistics Tutoring Room is a drop-in center where any student can get help with any mathematics or statistics course. It is located in CDS 261 and is typically staffed with graduate students during regular business hours. An updated and precise schedule will be posted here at the start of each semester.
- CAS Writing Assistance: The CAS Writing Center offers one-on-one appointments free of charge to students with papers from Writing Program courses (CAS WR courses) and most other courses that fulfill the First-Year Writing and Writing, Research, & Inquiry Hub units.
