Bara Alsalaheen, PT, PhD.

Dr. Alsalaheen is an Associate Professor of Physical Therapy at the College of Health Sciences at the University of Michigan- Flint. He is also a Research Assistant Professor of Neurology at the U-M Medical School. He is mentored by Christine McDonough, PT, PhD and Amy Kilbourne PhD.
Trevor Lentz, PT, PhD

Dr. Trevor Lentz is an Assistant Professor in Orthopedic Surgery at Duke University School of Medicine. He is mentored by Kristen Archer, PT PhD.
Mark Paterno, PT, PhD, MBA, SCS, ATC
Dates of Fellowship: 7/1/19 – 6/31/21
Dr. Paterno is a Professor in the Division of Sports Medicine, Department of Pediatrics at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and Scientific Director in the Division of Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. As a CoHSTAR Faculty Fellow, Dr. Paterno is working with Dr. Kelley Fitzgerald, Dr. Joel Stevans and Dr. Ken Smith at the University of Pittsburgh.
Heather Hayes, PT, PhD, DPT
Dates of Fellowship: 9/1/2019 – 8/31/21
Dr. Heather Hayes is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. During her time as a CoHSTAR Faculty Fellow, Dr. Hayes will work with Dr. Christine McDonough from University of Pittsburgh and Dr. Vincent Mor from Brown University. Dr. Hayes is collaborating with naviHealth assessing the impact of post-acute care discharge placement on functional recovery for individuals with neurological disorders.
Carmen Capo-Lugo, PT, PhD
Dates of Fellowship: 9/1/18 – 2/29/20
Dr. Capo-Lugo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. As a CoHSTAR Faculty Fellow, Dr. Capo-Lugo worked with mentors at the Johns Hopkins Activity and Mobility Promotion (AMP) Program.
Jake Magel, PT, DSc, PhD

Dr. Jake Magel is currently a Research Assistant Professor in Physical Therapy and Athletic Training at the University of Utah. During his time as a CoHSTAR Faculty Fellow, Dr. Magel worked with Dr. Janet Freburger at the University of Pittsburgh.
Addie Middleton, PT, PhD

Dr. Addie Middleton is currently an Assistant Professor in the Division of Physical Therapy at the Medical University of South Carolina. During her time as a CoHSTAR Faculty Fellow, Dr. Middleton worked with Dr. Kelley Fitzgerald and Dr. Joel Stevans at the University of Pittsburgh.
Sean Rundell, PT, DPT, PhD
Dates of Fellowship: 8/1/18 – 7/30/19
Dr. Rundell is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Physical Therapy within the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Washington. As a CoHSTAR FAculty Fellow, Dr. Rundell worked with Dr. Kristin Archer at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Anne Thackeray, MPH, PhD
Dates of fellowship: 6/1/17 – 5/31/18
Dr. Anne Thackeray is currently a Research Assistant Professor in Physical Therapy & Athletic Training at the University of Utah. During her time as a CoHSTAR Faculty Fellow, Dr. Thackeray worked with Dr. Jennifer Brach at the University of Pittsburgh and Dr. Rachel Hess at the University of Utah.
Daniel Young, PT, DPT, PhD
Dates of fellowship: 6/28/16-12/30/17
Dr. Young is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy School of Allied Health Sciences, Division of Health Sciences at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. During his time as a CoHSTAR Faculty Fellow, he worked with Dr. Alan Jette at Boston University.
Daniel Pinto, PT, DPT, PhD, OCS, FAAOMPT

Dr. Dan Pinto is an Assistant Professor at Northwestern University in the Physical Therapy and Human Movement Sciences department. During his time as a CoHSTAR Faculty Fellow, Dr. Pinto worked with Dr. Thomas Trikalinos at Brown University.
Meghan Warren, PT, MPH, PhD
Dates of fellowship: 8/15/16 – 8/14/17
Dr. Warren is an Associate Professor for the Program in Physical Therapy at Northern Arizona University. During her tenure as a CoHSTAR Faculty Fellow, she worked with Dr. Theresa Shireman at Brown University.
Adam Goode, PT, DPT, PhD
Dates of fellowship: 11/1/2015 – 6/30/17
Dr. Adam Goode is an epidemiologist, physical therapist, and Associate Professor at Duke University. During his tenure as CoHSTAR’s first Faculty Fellow, Dr. Goode worked with Drs. Delitto and Fitzgerald at the University of Pittsburgh.
Postdoctoral Fellows
Emily Evans, PT, PhD, DPT
Dates of fellowship: 2/1/2019 – 8/31/2021
Dr. Emily Evans received her PhD from the MGH-Institute of Health Professions. As a CoHSTAR Postdoctoral fellow, she worked with Dr. Kali Thomas and Dr. Linda Resnik at Brown University examining how injury characteristics, rehabilitative care, and contextual factors impact functional trajectories of older adults with traumatic brain injury.
Tamra Keeney, PT PhD, DPT, CCS

Dr. Tamra Keeney received her PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences from the MGH Institute of Health Professions. During her time as a CoHSTAR Postdoctoral fellow, she was be working with Dr. Vince Mor at Brown University.

Peter Coyle is currently a Clinical Research Scientist at University of Delaware.During his time as a CoHSTAR Faculty Fellow, Dr. Coyle worked with Drs. Jennifer Brach, Janet Freburger, and Anthony Delitto at the University of Pittsburgh.
