Yan Lashchev
PhD Student
Yan Lashchev is a first-year PhD student in Boston University’s Computing and Data sciences working at the intersection of mechanistic interpretability, language understanding, and processing. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), double majoring in Applied Mathematics and Statistics & Data Science. Before starting his doctoral studies, Yan held both professional and research-based roles at UCSB, such as a computational linguist in a speech kinematics lab, a mentor for the annual data science capstone, and an undergraduate advisor for the Department of Statistics and Applied Probability.
