Xuezhou (Jack) Zhang

Assistant Professor of Computing & Data Sciences

Xuezhou (Jack) Zhang comes to BU as a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Computing & Data Sciences.

Prior to joining CDS, Jack was an Associate Research Scholar affiliated with the ECE department and the Center for Statistics and Machine Learning at Princeton University working with Prof. Mengdi Wang. His research focuses on the theory and applications of interactive machine learning, including online learning, reinforcement learning and algorithmic game theory. Particularly, his recent research has focused on designing general-purpose reinforcement learning algorithms that are sample and computationally efficient, robust to noisy or adversarial feedbacks, and/or handle partial observability and multi-agent communications.

Jack received a Ph.D. in Computer Sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, advised by Prof. Jerry Zhu, and was a visiting scholar in the Learning and Games program at Simons Institute for the Theory of Computing in Spring 2022.  Learn more
