Robby Weber

Communications Specialist

Robby Weber joined the Faculty of Computing & Data Sciences in 2026 as a Communications Specialist—a storyteller at heart, eager to spotlight the work happening across CDS. He leads the Faculty's communications and marketing efforts across brand, social media, web, email, and enrollment marketing, shaping the strategy, systems, and team that carry the CDS story to students, faculty, industry partners, and the wider public. Working closely with faculty and leadership, he's eager to translate complex research and ambitious programs into clear, compelling narratives that resonate well beyond the field.

That instinct for story was honed across some of the most recognizable names in their fields. Before higher education, Robby built and led communications and social media work for organizations including Disney and Mayo Clinic, and spent time in agency settings serving a wide range of clients—learning how to find the human thread in any brand and tell it at scale. He holds a BS in Communications from the University of North Florida, and brings that same big-brand craft to the close, mission-driven work of a growing academic community.

His storytelling doesn't stop at the office. Robby is also the author of four young adult novels with HarperCollins, an experience that shapes how he thinks about voice, audience, and the arc of a good narrative. Having grown up at the beach in Florida, he's passionate about marine conservation and coastal resiliency, and is always finding ways to get involved and make a difference.
