Elizabeth Carter
Undergraduate Academic Advisor
CDS welcomes Elizabeth Carter to the team as an undergraduate advisor starting in Fall 2023. Elizabeth has worked at Boston University since January 2022, previously in wet labs and academic research.
Before moving to advising, she was a laboratory technician in a biochemistry lab at the BU National Emerging and Infectious Diseases Laboratory (NEIDL) whose research focused on the role viral proteins play in viral replication of enteroviruses, including poliovirus and SARS-CoV-2. Previously, Elizabeth was a technician in the BU Clinical Testing Lab, the lab that processed PCR tests for the university’s COVID-19 nasal swabs. Elizabeth is excited to join the team and use her STEM background to learn about data science and connect with CDS students and faculty.
Elizabeth holds a bachelor's degree in biology and minors in chemistry, mathematics, and art history from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. Elizabeth’s undergraduate experience was disjointed due to changing majors and the COVID-19 pandemic pushing courses online. Elizabeth hopes to put these experiences to good use in advising students facing similar challenges.
