Sungjoon Park's research lies at the intersection of deep learning, uncertainty quantification, and extreme value analysis. His work focuses on enhancing both predictive accuracy and reliability, especially for rare but high-impact events in complex systems. As part of this research, he is applying these methods to develop weather forecasting models for the West African region under the supervision of Professor Aguêmon Yves Atchadé..
