Experiential Learning Mentorship Program

A&S Connector

Mentee Application Information

Thank you for your interest in the Connector’s Experiential Learning Mentorship Program. Applications are now closed. Please check back in the fall for information about our AY 2023-2024 program.

The Connector’s Experiential Learning Mentorship Program (ELMP) matches first-year undergraduates in CAS with a sophomore, junior, or senior CAS student mentor for a semester’s worth of programming focused on putting your Arts & Sciences education into action.  In addition to helping first-year students access experiential learning opportunities on- and off-campus, the program offers mentors and mentees the chance to work together on an EL project of their own that will have a real impact on the community. For Spring 2023, participants collaborated with their peers and CAS administrators on the design and development of the A&S Connector, actively contributing to the implementation of this emerging resource.

Through participation in the Experiential Learning Mentorship Program …

Mentees will

  • Receive guidance and direction from their mentor on finding experiential learning opportunities at BU and beyond
  • Grow peer and professional networks
  • Assess career readiness and make plan for developing transferrable skills for post-graduation life
  • Contribute meaningfully to the development of an existing academic resource for CAS undergraduates
  • Become better prepared for the workplace by connecting classroom learning and knowledge to real-world situations

Commitment

  • Attend in-person mentorship workshops:
  • Meet twice per month in mentoring groups at mutually convenient times (Starbucks gift cards provided!)

    Application Requirements and Instructions
