Exploring Majors & Careers Week
During the fall semester the College of Arts & Sciences, in conjunction with the Center for Career Development & Alumni Relations, sponsors a week of programming for students in CAS and throughout the University to explore the many opportunities afforded to them as students at Boston University and beyond.
Majors & Careers Week provides an excellent opportunity for undeclared CAS freshmen and sophomores, as well as students from the other schools contemplating intra-University transfer, to explore all the vast array of majors CAS has to offer. All students are encouraged to attend the panel discussions, and presentations may include information sessions regarding the importance of internships, where Boston University alumni are now, what different companies are looking for when hiring recent graduates, the wide variety of service opportunities for recent college graduates, and firsthand accounts of how alumni applied their liberal arts degree to the job market.
Parents Weekend Reception
CAS undergraduate students and their parents are invited to an informal reception with CAS deans, faculty, and staff during Homecoming and Parents Weekend. This year’s Parents Weekend Reception will be held on Friday, October 16.

The Commencement weekend is full of special events honoring the achievements of CAS graduates and expressing the pleasure, excitement, and pride of their families, their teachers, and their friends. Graduates and their guests are encouraged to attend both the All-University Commencemt at Nickerson Field as well as the department-specific ceremony for which the graduate majored. Please check back for all schedules and information regarding the weekend events.
Class Day, which takes place every year during Commencement Weekend, is a joyous occasion that brings CAS faculty, students, families, and guests together to celebrate the accomplishments of graduating seniors. The annual Class Day Reception follows the ceremony. As Commencement approaches, this year’s graduates and their parents will receive specific information on the Class Day ceremony and Reception.
