Apply for an all expenses paid opportunity to learn about science policy in Washington DC
The AAAS Catalyzing Advocacy in Science and Engineering (CASE) Workshop in Washington D.C. offers the opportunity for PhD students in STEM disciplines to learn about science policy and advocacy. This three-and-a-half-day program will educate STEM students about the role of science in policy-making, introduce them to the federal policy-making process, and empower them with ways to become a voice for basic research throughout their careers. For more information about the AAAS CASE workshop, please visit the program website.
Four students from Boston University will be selected to attend. Chosen applicants must receive consent from their advisor. Those who attend must present with the other attendees on their experience in a seminar open to Boston University members following the completion of their visit.
Federal Relations will cover all travel and lodging as the workshop registration fee for the four selected participants. Additionally, for those looking to extend their trip to D.C., BU Federal Relations has in the past set up visits on Capitol Hill for those that are interested.
