Congratulations on making it through your first week back from spring break. If you’re still recovering from travel or a busy week of classes, this first weekend of spring is a good chance to slow down and catch your breath. It’s a great time to explore a new neighborhood and avail yourself of some fun activities on campus and around the city.

Women of the West End Walking Tour

In honor of Women’s History Month, the West End Museum is hosting a walking tour highlighting the women who shaped the neighborhood’s past. The guided walk explores the lives of activists, educators, artists, and community leaders who lived and worked in the West End, offering a closer look at their influence on Boston’s cultural and social history.

Thursday, March 19, 5:30 to 6:30 pm, and Sunday, March 22, 11 am to noon, West End Museum, 150 Staniford St., Boston. $10 admission. Purchase tickets here.

BU Art Market

The BU Office for the Arts is bringing together artists and makers from across campus for an art market on Friday, March 20. BU community members with small creative businesses will showcase and sell their work, including paintings, prints, photography, clothing, and other handmade items. Local DJs will perform throughout the event, creating a lively setting to browse art and connect with fellow creatives.

Friday, March 20, 1 to 6 pm, George Sherman Union (first floor), 775 Commonwealth Ave. Free admission.

The Gardeners’ Gathering

With the official arrival of spring on Friday, it’s time to start thinking about gardening. This annual event brings together growers from across the Boston area for a day of workshops, exhibits, and networking. Sessions will be devoted to compost, beekeeping, urban soils, garden tool care, raising urban chickens, and more. It’s a great opportunity to meet fellow gardeners and urban farming groups.

Saturday, March 21, 10 am to 5 pm, Northeastern University Curry Center, 360 Huntington Ave., Boston. Free admission.

Boston Public Market FiberFest

Fiber artists, farmers, and crafters from across New England will gather at Boston Public Market for a weekend-long celebration of fiber arts and handmade goods. More than 30 vendors will offer yarn, textiles, and other fiber creations, while visitors can watch demonstrations, try drop-in activities like needle felting, and browse locally made products.

Saturday, March 21, and Sunday, March 22, 10 am to 5 pm, Boston Public Market, 100 Hanover St., Boston. Free admission. Workshops require preregistration here.

Multiple Formats Art Book Fair

The College of Fine Arts School of Visual Arts is hosting its annual Multiple Formats Art Book Fair, bringing together more than 140 exhibitors from across the country. Artists, designers, students, and independent publishers will showcase art books, prints, and other printed works throughout the day. The fair offers a chance to browse unique publications while meeting creators from Boston and beyond.

Women’s Month Celebration Market

Celebrate Women’s History Month while supporting local entrepreneurs at this market featuring women-owned small businesses. Visitors can browse handmade goods, including jewelry, candles, artwork, and self-care products, while enjoying food and drinks from vendors inside Time Out Market Boston. The event offers an easy way to shop local and discover makers from across the Boston area.

BLEND Spring 2026

One of BU’s biggest a cappella events returns to the GSU Metcalf Ballroom this weekend. BLEND brings together collegiate a cappella groups from Boston and beyond for a one-night concert showcasing a range of vocal styles and performances. Expect a high-energy show as groups take the stage with their own arrangements, bringing a lively close to the weekend.
