Tech, Drugs & Rock ’n Roll!
Brown to address OTD networking kickoff

Aspiring inventors and entrepreneurs can learn how to take their dreams to the next level with the help of the Office and Technology Development (OTD), which kicks off its first annual networking event today with a keynote address by President Robert A. Brown.
Industry professionals will join the BU community at Tech, Drugs & Rock ’n Roll!, which runs from 4 to 8 p.m. on the second floor of the George Sherman Union, 775 Commonwealth Ave. President Brown will speak at 6:30 p.m. and present the BU Innovator of the Year award.
OTD helps faculty, students, and alumni translate their ideas into marketable products with services that include patent filing, licensing, funding, and business incubation.
OTD staff will be on hand to talk about how to get involved with the Kindle Mentoring Program, an initiative that pairs members of the BU research community with entrepreneurs and business leaders who can help launch their ideas into the marketplace. There will also be food, live music by the Joshua Tree Band, ping-pong, and technology presentations. The event is free, but registration is required.
