Priceless Works of Art
BU students can attend Symphony Hall concerts for free
An empty wallet is no excuse for missing out on a little culture.
The dean of students office and the College of Fine Arts have announced the return of the Boston Symphony Orchestra College Card, which allows BU students, faculty, and staff to attend more than 19 BSO concerts and open rehearsals this season. The BSO practices and performs at Symphony Hall, 301 Massachusetts Ave., Boston.
Until 2007, the College Card cost $25 for any Boston college student, but for the past three years, CFA and Dean of Students Kenneth Elmore have provided the card free of charge for BU students.
Cardholders can register for e-mail updates on new performances, which will be added to the free roster as they become available, and for dates and times of the free events.
“Between the BSO College Card program, free admission to the Museum of Fine Arts and the Institute of Contemporary Art, and discounts at the Huntington Theatre Company, we’re excited that CFA is helping to make the arts a part of the lives of every person on campus,” says Walt Meissner (CFA’81), CFA dean ad interim.
The BSO College Card, free with a BU ID, is available for pickup at the CFA dean’s office or at the Info Desk on the second floor of the George Sherman Union.
