Go Greek
Fraternity and sorority recruitment starts today, September 24

Campus Greek organizations face their share of stereotypes, among them toga parties and elaborate hazing rituals. But students who join rave about forming friendships, sharing interests, and serving the community. Greek Life at BU begins this week for students considering pledging a fraternity or sorority.
The Panhellenic Council (also known as Panhel) represents all of BU’s sororities. In 2007, more than 400 women participated in recruitment. Panhel is holding an open house tonight, Wednesday, September 24, from 6 to 9 p.m. in the George Sherman Union’s Metcalf Ballroom. Students from sororities on campus will be there to answer questions.
The Inter-Fraternity Council (also known as the IFC) is the governing group of fraternities on campus. The IFC will hold an open house tomorrow night, Thursday, September 25, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the GSU Backcourt. Members from each fraternity will be on hand to answer questions and distribute the Recruitment Events Schedule. Students can register for recruitment under “Prospective Students.”
The Multicultural Greek Council is made up of culturally based sororities and fraternities. For more information on the Multicultural Greek Council and its organizations, contact mgcbu@gmail.com.
On Thursday, September 25, BU’s Greek organizations will host Greek Life Toga/Jammin’ Thursdays, with togas recommended but not required. There will be a cash bar for those over 21. The event starts at 9 p.m. in the GSU Backcourt.
