Congratulations on getting through the first week of classes, Terriers! To celebrate, here are some fun events around campus and the city this weekend. Just be sure to bundle up—Boston winter and arctic chills are in full force.

Mug Crafting Night

It’s officially hot drinks season! One of the many events at this semester’s Winter Weeks of Welcome is a mug crafting event, with free boba. With Boston winter in full swing, a cup of hot tea, cocoa, or coffee is the perfect way to get through a snowy and windy day. Join fellow Terriers in decorating and personalizing mugs that would look good on your desk or your Instagram story. Like other Winter Weeks of Welcome events, this one is first come, first served, so be sure to reserve a spot on Eventbrite.

Thursday, January 22, 6 to 8 pm, BU Central, 775 Commonwealth Ave.

Terriers on Ice

Terriers can enjoy free ice-skating at Agganis Arena as part of the Winter Weeks of Welcome (another first come, first served event). Skates, food, and drinks are free. This rink is a no-judgment zone, so come with any level of experience and a fun spirit. Reserve a spot on Eventbrite.

Friday, January 23, 6 to 9 pm, Agganis Arena, 925 Commonwealth Ave.

BU Women’s Hockey vs Vermont

The Boston University women’s hockey team hosts the University of Vermont this Friday. Head to Walter Brown Arena ready to cheer on your Terrier team.

Friday, January 23, 6 pm, Walter Brown Arena, 285 Babcock St. Purchase tickets here.

Splash 2.0

Looking for a new club to join this semester? Is one of your New Year’s resolutions to try out a new hobby? Make new friends? Splash 2.0 should have what you’re looking for. Explore over 300 student groups and learn about all the ways to get involved with the BU community. From magazines to sports to cultural clubs, there’s something for everyone.

Saturday, January 24, noon to 2:30 pm, GSU, 775 Commonwealth Ave.

BU Men’s Hockey vs Providence

The Boston University men’s hockey team will play against the Providence College Friars this weekend. Cheer on your fellow Terriers at Agganis Arena. There will also be a tailgate T-shirt giveaway,

Saturday, January 24, 7 pm, Agganis Arena, 925 Commonwealth Ave. Purchase tickets here.

Legos and Eggos

Who doesn’t love Legos? Unwind for the day by building a free mini Lego set, the perfect addition to your desk. Additional buckets of Legos will also be available for Terriers to craft their own designs. Zinneken waffles will be provided for a fun snack. This event is first come, first served. Reserve a spot on Eventbrite.

Sunday, January 25, 7 to 9 pm, GSU Ballroom, 775 Commonwealth Ave.

Revolution! 250 Years of Art & Activism in Boston

As Boston steadily approaches the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, head to the Boston Public Library and check out Revolution! 250 Years of Art & Activism in Boston. This exhibition features over 100 artworks, prints, photographs, paintings, and sculptures that amplify lesser-known stories about America’s history. Artwork highlights include early portraits of Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, and Crispus Attucks.

Daily through April 21, times vary by day, Central Library in Copley Square, 700 Boylston St. See schedule here.
