Special second edition
A special release of a math teaching textbook co-authored by Suzanne Chapin will make it available to educators this year.

School of Education professor of curriculum and teaching Suzanne Chapin will soon publish the second edition of her book dedicated to helping primary and secondary school educators better integrate mathematics in the classroom.
The first edition of Math Matters: Understanding the Math You Teach, co-authored by former SED Professor Arthur Johnson, was published in 2000. Since then, it has served as a resource for many educators, math coaches, and college faculty. For the second version, Chapin added additional grade levels, changing the reach of the book from K-6 to K-8, and included new ideas for mathematical activities conducive to classroom learning.
The book will be specially released this spring, allowing college faculty to order the book for use in the summer and fall.
