Lafontant grew up in Pòtoprens, Ayiti (Port-au-Prince, Haiti). He is a system analyst who has been taught and inspired by some of the world’s leading change agents, e.g., Brown, R. G. Jr., MBA; Brat, R., Ph.D.; Ferrer, B., Ph.D.; Stedman, J., Ph.D.; King, M.; Karuku, J.; Newport, G.; Samareign et al. He leads, educates, and empowers his team to communicate better than none. He exemplifies integrity, vivacity, and resourcefulness in every detail of his personal, professional, and daily life. Four words, from Lafontant, a person can count on are, Learning; Interactive; Fun; and Experiential (L.I.F.E.). He is the founder of Z Gallery, formerly Gallery Basquiat of Boston, and owner of six-sided design, an innovative art canvas; author of Krik? Krak! Dèyè mòn gen mòn, and After the dust settles the next practices for the transformation of Haiti; contributing writer to Potomitan.info, Tanbou.com, and Progress in Community Health Partnerships; and journalist. He possesses a Master of Leadership, Sol Price School of Public Policy, University of Southern California (USC); a Certificate in Management of Community-Based Organizations, Tufts University; and a Bachelor of Science in Human Services, Springfield College. Lafontant lives and resides in Boston, Massachusetts. He is the proud father of Gabriel and Ita.
