I am a transnational historian with research interests in colonialism, decolonization, migrations and diasporas. I received my PhD in History from Boston University (2019) where my research focused on the legacy of Portugal’s colonial and postcolonial encounters with Mozambique, funded by a Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad Fellowship, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (Portugal), and the BU Center for the Humanities. I have published my research in Gender & History and the South African Historical Journal. At present, I am a Lecturer in the English Department Writing Program at Northeastern University where I teach first-year and advanced interdisciplinary writing and research seminars. As Assistant Editor for the International Journal of African Historical Studies I particularly enjoy helping authors sharpen their arguments and identify the significance of their research for the Journal’s diverse readership.
