African Studies Center 70th Anniversary Gala & Bradford Morse Distinguished Lecture, featuring UNICEF Ambassador Vanessa Nakate

Join us to celebrate the 70th anniversary of one of the most vibrant and longstanding African Studies Center in the nation! The 70th anniversary gala dinner and Bradford Morse Distinguished Lecture will take place at 6:15 pm on Friday, September 29 at 1 Silber Way, Boston. We are thrilled to feature Vanessa Nakate as our Bradford Morse Distinguished Lecturer at the dinner. Ms. Nakate is a Ugandan climate justice activist who has spoken at COP 26 and will be coming to us from Secretary General Guterres’ climate summit at the United Nations General Assembly meeting in New York. Ms. Nakate was on the cover of Time Magazine in October 2021 for her courageous stand on global climate issues. She will speak on “Same Storm, Different Boats: Africa and Climate Justice.”
