  • Starts8:00 pm on Wednesday, October 11, 2023
  • Ends9:00 pm on Wednesday, October 11, 2023
Responding to current issues, the webinar series aims to shed light on military presences operating on the continent and ways Africans grapple with them. Specifically the webinar for 6-12 pre-service and in-serivce teachers aims to: Situate the groups in a larger geopolitical context and in relation to competing military groups on the continent; Identify countries and places of operation and give examples of consequences of this operation, and of African resistance and criticism; Discuss why teachers should know about this military activity as responsive global actors. This webinar, led by Dr. Horace Campbell, focuses on the U.S. Africa Command. The following webinars will delve into the role of France in Niger, and a case study of the U.S. military base on the Chagos islands.
