Graduate Student Position: Hiring Now

The BU African Studies Center K-16 Education Outreach Program aims to promote teaching about Africa and African-related studies in U.S. schools. In this 8-hr/wk position, graduate student assistants will support the program with a number of key projects. The set of responsibilities expected of the position include:

  • Provide TAT event web support for Outreach Program Manager 
  • Outreach, recruitment, and coordination for the Teaching Africa Teacher (TAT) Certificate program,
  • Creating flyers and other marketing visuals
  • Video editing of recorded events to be uploaded on the ASC Outreach website and Youtube Channel 
  • Support content for ASC Outreach social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram (knowledge of SEO and other marketing strategies preferred)
  • Maintain ASC Outreach WordPress webpages 
  • Curriculum review
  • Handling orders of educational products that our office sells to teachers and educators (posters, DVDs, and country kits) and keeping track of billing.

The position will run throughout the summer on a weekly basis. Knowledge of pedagogy and/or Africa is preferred. Spring 2020 start. Send CV to africa@bu.edu.
