ALP Instructors Hold Teaching Demos

Last week our seasoned African language instructors exchanged teaching techniques, by preforming demos during their professional development workshop. African Language Program Director, Dr. Zoliswa Mali writes about the experience.

Kudos to Mwalimu Judith Mmari and Mwalimu Lamin Diallo for wonderful lessons! My Swahili and Wolof are better today than yesterday! Both are long serving language instructors,  with Judith also being a Senior Lecturer.
We do all we can to enhance each other through pedagogical cross pollination! An isiXhosa proverb says, “Umntu ngumntu nhabantu” meaning, we are interdependent! I am because you are! All for the love of African Languages at Boston University.
In attendance were Nneka ‘Nikki” Agba, our longserving Igbo lecturer and Mulugeta Zegeye our Amharic lecturer, as well as Dr. Zoliswa ‘Zoli Mali, Senior Lecturer who teaches isiZulu, isiXhosa and Africa Today, a linguist by training.
