BU Alumna and Rutgers Professor of History Barbara M. Cooper Delivered Annual Bradford Morse Lecture

BU alumna and Rutgers Professor of History Barbara M. Cooper delivered the annual Bradford Morse Lecture at the African Studies Center this week! Her talk, “Reflections on a Baby Scandal: Paradoxes of Fertility and Infertility in West Africa,” drew from her forthcoming book on the history of fertility in the Sahel and was attended by students and faculty from across the BU and African studies communities.

Following the lecture, attendees and members of the wider community enjoyed dinner and listened to music from across the Africa continent. during the event members of the ASC, the community paid tribute to former ASC Director, John Harris. Professor James McCann and Professor Daivi Rodima-Taylor took a few moments to share memories of John and remark on his extensive contribution to the Center and the field of African studies as a whole.
