Assessment for Language Teaching and Research

In this course, we cover current theories, research findings, and major controversies in the field of language testing and assessment. Students will gain knowledge of and learn to use various standards-based language proficiency instruments (CEFR-based assessments, ACTFL assessments, WIDA Consortium assessments, etc.) to inform instruction. Students will also gain experience in the development of reliable and valid assessment tools that are performance, task, and content-based for classroom research and L2 instruction.
