Special Topics: Human Physiology

MET BI 501

This course will cover the structure and function of the major human organ systems. It will take a systems based-approach, first outlining the endocrine, cardiovascular, lymphatic and immune, respiratory, digestive, urinary and reproductive systems. The latter part of the class will focus on interconnections amongst systems, and utilize a clinical approach to highlight disease processes that span multiple organ systems (i.e. autoimmune diseases, acid-base disorders, and cancer).
