Mathematical & Scientific Software

Overview	IS&T provides media and licenses for a number of mathematical and scientific programs used throughout the University. The license requirements and method of obtaining media for each is unique.
Available To	Students, Faculty, Staff, Departments
Benefits	Bulk or site licenses provide major cost savings to the University.
Key Features	Maple: 9 concurrent licenses; one standalone Mathematica: site license MATLAB: 500 concurrent network licenses and 40+ toolboxes LabVIEW: site license S-PLUS: 25 faculty/staff licenses, unlimited student licenses
Requirements	Maple: Runs concurrently on BU Linux and Solaris; contact maple@bu.edu for other options. Mathematica: Government and commercial work excluded. MATLAB: Must run on campus network; government and commercial work excluded. LabVIEW: Must reside on University owned machine; government and commercial work excluded. S-PLUS: Government and commercial work excluded.
Cost	Labview is cost recovered from CAS & COE; no charge for the rest.
