Welcome to the Language Center
The Geddes Language Center is dedicated to providing an extensive humanities resource for the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) and the Boston University community.
Founded in 1960 to provide service to the Department of Romance Studies and Department of World Languages & Literatures, the Geddes Language Center has grown to provide digital media production and classroom support, audio/visual facilities, an extensive film library, and professional development opportunities to many CAS/GRS departments and centers. The Center’s 42-station Computer Lab is also open to all members of the Boston University community and welcomes visitors and guests. Most services and facilities are available without charge to faculty for CAS courses and projects. Many resources can be contracted for by non-CAS departments on a fee-basis.
Our mission is to support the faculty as they introduce new teaching modalities, both in the classroom and online, and to support student academic activity. Our policies are guided by the wish to create a comfortable and stimulating facility for Boston University students. For more information about us, see our revised mission statement.
