Dance to your heart's content with BU!
The Dance program allows participants to become aware of their physical and
creative capabilities, and to increase their understanding
of dance as a physical discipline, an art form and a social phenomenon. The dance program has something for everyone! You can pursue dance as a performance art or recreational activity by taking
advantage of our credit technique and theory courses. In addition to offering courses in traditional genres including ballet, modern,
jazz, tap, and improvisation, we have a host of non-credit dance styles such as aerial (new as of 2012), belly dance, Capoeira, Salsa. Hip Hop, Cardio Jazz Funk, Pilates, and ballroom styles are listed in both the credit and non-credit programs. There
are also courses in history and aesthetics that are cross-listed with the College of Fine Arts.
Our BU Dance Theater is the site of dance performances and workshops and is available for rentals. Please check out the list below to see what else we offer.

all its forms cannot be excluded from the curriculum of all
noble education; dancing with the feet, with ideas, with words,
