Notification of an Emergency Situation

Upon receipt of reliable information about a large-scale emergency or potential disaster, the BUPD will immediately contact the Incident Commander and initiate the first calls to the BU CRC ICS Command Group. Guidance for emergency notification is found in Appendix K of the Boston University’s Charles River Campus Emergency Response Plan. The notification will include a short description of the situation, the emergency phase (or anticipated phase) and the reporting location, e.g. Command Center. The Incident Command Response Team (ICRT) will be notified in all Phase B or Phase C situations.

When ICRT members are instructed to report to the Command Center, they should report as soon as possible or send their alternate. Command Center members must bring a copy of the ER Plan and contact information for their staff
