Research Safety

The Research Safety Division of Environment Health and Safety (EHS) is staffed by a team of biological safety, chemical and laboratory safety professionals with expertise to assist researchers mitigate and manage risks associated with their research while meeting regulatory and compliance requirements. Each laboratory building is assigned an EHS staff member to assist laboratories to conduct safe and compliant research.  Research Safety at Boston University helps to minimize the risk of injury and illness to laboratory workers while maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This is achieved in collaboration with the research community by providing training, guidance, resources, and support to faculty, staff, and students and empower them to take a proactive approach toward safety. To learn more about the various programs covered by research safety click on the links below.
