Student Studio

Student Studio brings art education to local schools and community centers by offering an outlet for creative minds and cultural expression.  Including art helps create a broader educational experience for young people.

Student Studio works with schools and community centers to provide students with weekly mixed-media art sessions run by our volunteers. We strive to empower youth through art, form lasting relationships with our neighboring communities and serve as mentors for the students we engage. Creative expression is essential in life and development. Through this exposure we hope to encourage youth to explore the meaning of community and identity. In the past, we’ve partnered with Hurley K-8 school, Huntington YMCA, Winthrop Elementary.

Time Commitment

Student Studio volunteers should expect to spend about 3-4 hours volunteering every other week (includes travel time), as well as bi-weekly meetings on the off-weeks to plan projects for the following week’s volunteering opportunity. If you cannot attend the meetings, you can still volunteer with us! We will also hold a handful of one time service events throughout the semester, for those who want to get involved but are worried about the time commitment. Please email with any questions.
