Scholarship Information

VASI is able to award a limited number of need and merit based scholarships each year.  These are generally awards of $300-$600, and are awarded to students who demonstrate financial need, artistic promise, and a strong desire to develop an exceptional portfolio.  To be considered for a scholarship, students should submit 5 images of their work, including a self portrait, and a brief statement describing how a scholarship will enable  them to attend VASI.  The images and statement can be submitted as a CD with the application fee, or emailed to bzerega@bu.edu.

College Credit

After successful completion of  VASI, students earn 3 college credits, transferrable to most institutions the student will later attend.  For comparison, one (1) Boston University credit in 2015-2016 costs $1,428.

Rising seniors with an interest in applying for undergraduate admission to the School of Visual Arts will be able to receive portfolio reviews from faculty members at the program’s completion.  In addition, every VASI student accepted to Boston University’s School of Visual Arts as an incoming freshman is eligible to receive a minimum merit award of $2000, renewable all four years.
