Undergraduates in the College of Arts & Sciences engage with the questions, historic achievements, and contemporary approaches that most fundamentally inform humanity’s search for understanding of individuals, societies, and our physical universe. By studying the humanities and natural, computational, and social sciences, our students develop the tools and lay the groundwork for success and fulfillment in all walks of life.

A second hallmark of undergraduate education at CAS is the intellectual framework provided by our College Program. Balancing breadth with depth of study, and setting common learning goals that can be flexibly met, the College Program ensures that as a liberally educated graduate of CAS, you will have acquired strong communication and critical reasoning skills; a broad base of knowledge and ways of gathering new knowledge; and the expertise that results from in-depth study of one or more majors.  

With a choice of more than 60 majors and an extensive range of minors and special academic opportunities, you will use the framework of the College Program to explore your options and build a course of study that reflects your own individual interests, talents, and aspirations.
