There are 6 comments on Pulitzer Winner Jhumpa Lahiri Returns to Campus

  1. This is a good write but nothing like Namesake. She keeps moving in and out of characters from third party account to personal experience. Covers four generations in one go. But one thing interesting is the description of Kolkata and Calcutta as we know back in the 60’s, the turmoils of those years, the movement, the students and how they got effected. It in a way tells why Kolkata still suffers even 30 years of Naxal rule.

  2. Special guests such as Pulitzer-Prize winning author Jhumpa Lahiri and pluri-awarded information designer Giorgia Lupi will visit our campus this academic year. The calendar is enriched by the presence of MSU alumni (Wayne DeFeo) and professors active in Italy (Maurizio Cellura). Acclaimed actor Vincenzo Amato returns to campus to talk about immigration to the U.S. as part of the in-class presentation series linked to the course Italian Americans in Film. The Inserra Endowment will co-sponsor and support programs organized by other units on campus, including Stefano Piaggi, curator of the legacy of his aunt, fashion legend Anna Piaggi.

  3. With her proficiency in Italian, we Bengalees look forward to seeing her write about Tagore’s influence on Italian litterateurs. This is an area that remains completely unexplored.
