During the weeks prior to the fall 2019 move-in weekend, IS&T activated eduroam, across the Charles River Campus (CRC). An additional roll out is planned for BUMC in Spring 2020.  Eduroam (education roaming) is an international Internet access roaming service for users in research and higher education and provides students, faculty and staff easy and secure network access when visiting an institution other than their own. Prior to the campus-wide launch, eduroam was primarily available on the Fenway Campus and in selective CRC locations such as Mugar Library, the George Sherman Union and the Photonics Center.

Through Boston University’s affiliation with eduroam, BU Community members can connect to eduroam’s wireless network at participating institutions worldwide, simply by logging in with their BU email address and password.

Having started in Europe, eduroam has rapidly expanded throughout the research and education community and is now available in nearly 101 territories worldwide and emerging pilot locations.
